The intent of this policy is to provide some clarity about how refunds will be granted, to give a mutually amicable outcome for the Club and the Individual.

Should a player change their mind after registering to play with Merrimac Football Club, there is no full refund of fees. We understand that circumstances can change for families and any requests for refund should be submitted by email to the Club at

Players who register with Merrimac FC for the coming season but do not play part or all of the season, may be entitled to a partial refund of their registration fees based on the reason for their discontinuance and at the Committee’s absolute discretion.

A player’s total registration fee is made up of a number of components. These being:

  1. Football Federation Australia (FFA)

  2. National Registration Fee (NRF)

  3. Football Queensland (FQ) 

  4. Club Fee

The Club, has no control over the amount set as the FFA or FQ Capitation. The FFA, NRF and FQ Capitation once paid is non-refundable to the player upon a de-registration. (Refer to the Terms & Conditions in Play Football when registering to play).

The only instance where a  refund is to be applied is when the player HAS NOT engaged in any football activity within the Club, i.e. has not trained, participated in a trial game, or played in a season fixture. The player must deregister at PlayFootball. 


Refunds may be given for the following circumstances:

  • The Club cannot place the player into a suitable team i.e. team does not proceed due to not enough or too many players for their age group and no merchandise has been issued

  • The player’s personal circumstances change e.g. moving away from area

  • The player becomes injured or ill and it’s predicted he/she will not play

The refund amount is to be equal to the total registration fee paid minus the value of any merchandise provided and the FFA, NRF and FQ Fees and Levy's.

It is not the Club’s intention to make a profit out of players not playing.  The Club won’t stand in the way of players who do not wish to be part of the Club.  The refund policy is intended to ensure the Club is not out of pocket due to refunding registration fees.
